Behavior Specialist 2.7 2.7 out of 5 stars 1735 State Road 16, Saint Augustine, FL 32084 The Daisy Adams Center is currently seeking a Behavior Specialist to join our team! The Daisy Adams Center is a mental health day program for adults with intellectual disabilities and behavioral difficulties. This position requires an individual with the physical capabilities to implement and lead behavioral intervention practices consistent with the program guidelines. The ideal individual will remain composed during behavioral interventions, including physical restraints involving large men or women.
Responsibilities will include:
Implements behavioral interventions according to their written individualized behavior plan ( once trained) . Implements crisis intervention procedures to ensure the safety of all individuals as prescribed – this involves the possibility of physically administrating TEAM restraint procedures ( once trained ) Administer medication according to established policy and procedure ( once trained) Timely and accurate completion of documentation on a daily basis. Ability to physically restrain adults and follow behavior plans (once trained) Ability to work as part of a collaborative team Flexibility to adjust to the multifaceted daily needs of the program is a must!
General Requirements:
Must have a High School diploma or GED BA or BS in Phycology or Social Science preferred Previous experience preferred Valid driver’s license Knowledge of mental health disorders are beneficial Must be able to pass a Level 2 background check and a drug screen Must be able to lift and/or carry 50 pounds.
