The aide will assist in implementing positive behavior support strategies, helping children thrive in a nurturing and structured environment. The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in working with people on the autism spectrum, as well as knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques. Responsibilities Support children during daily activities and routines (mealtime, playtime, transitions). Implement behavior strategies under the guidance of the lead teacher or director. Provide one-on-one or small group support to children with behavioral challenges. Reinforce positive behavior through praise, rewards, and consistent interventions. Support special education initiatives by collaborating with educators and therapists. Engage clients in therapeutic activities that promote social skills and emotional well-being. Monitor client behavior and report any significant changes to the appropriate staff members. Foster a positive and inclusive environment for individuals with disabilities. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; coursework in psychology, child development, or education preferred. Experience working with young children, especially those with behavioral or developmental needs. Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques is a plus. Experience or training in working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred. Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills. Familiarity with behavioral health practices and special education principles. Compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding. Ability to manage challenging behaviors while maintaining a calm demeanor. Monday – Friday (20-40 hours / week)
