24 hours/week, 6:30am-7:00pm
Overview:
Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualizedcare of the patient to achieve the patient’s highest level ofphysical and mental wellness.
Job Duties:
Performs designatedclinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential tonursing care Assists in unit operational support tasks or duties.
Utilize medical equipment including but not limited to: electronicvital signs machines, EKG, blood glucose monitoring device. Assistswith crisis situations utilizing de-escalation techniques.
Observation of patients to ensure a safe environment.
Training:
OurPatient Care Associate training program is an accredited Departmentof Labor Apprenticeship Program, providing a comprehensive,hands-on experience. Join Mercy to gain valuable skills andcredentials through this program in a supportive healthcareenvironment! If no previous experience, Mercy will provide arequired 175-hour training program that meets the Department ofHealth and Senior Services requirements. The program will becompleted as part of the new hire orientation process and must becompleted within 90 days of hire to remain in the PCA position perstate guidelines. BLS Required within one month of hire, completionof PCA competencies within 3 months of hire
Qualifications:
Education:
Prefer successful completion of a High School Diplomaand/or Nurse Assistant training course
Preferred Experience:
Behavioral Health, Psych, or Direct Support Professionalexperience.
