Position Overview:
We are looking for a Medical Office Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support our psychiatric practice. This role will primarily involve obtaining patient vital signs during treatments, reporting to the on-site provider any abnormal observation findings, and performing administrative tasks. This position has the potential to grow in hours with benefits as the patient demand increases.
Responsibilities:
Communicate promptly with the on-site provider regarding any changes in patient status or other observations during Spravato treatment. Monitor patient vital signs throughout treatment sessions, including pulse, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and respiratory rate. Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support clinic operations and on site provider. Accurately upload patient data into our Spravato database following each treatment session, ensuring timely and accurate documentation. Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: checking schedules and organizing patient flow; collecting patient history; performing screenings per provider guidelines; assisting physicians/nurses with various procedures; charting and helping with administrative tasks. Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include: sending/receiving patient medical records; hospital notes, referral information, etc.; completing forms/requisitions as needed; scheduling appointments; verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics; charge entry; managing documents and ensuring information is completed and filed appropriately. Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned which may include: keeping appropriate records; ordering, sorting, storing supplies; restocking clinic supplies. Fulfills organization responsibilities as assigned which may include: respecting/promoting patient rights; sharing problems relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisors quickly. Cross train in order to provide coverage for other employees as needed. Other responsibilities include obtaining urine and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Active medical assistant or nursing assistant certification in NC. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in behavioral health or clinic. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Familiarity with medical documentation practices and electronic health records is a plus.
Position Details:
32 Hours a week: Tues/Thurs 9-7:30; Wed 9-5; 9-4p Friday; flexibility to increase hours as clinic demand grows.
Compensation:
