The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students in a classroom environment, particularly those with special needs. This position requires effective communication skills, a strong understanding of behavior management, and the ability to foster a positive learning atmosphere. The Monitor will work closely with educators and students to ensure a safe and productive educational experience. Responsibilities Supervise and support students during classroom activities, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs. Educate students on appropriate behavior and conflict resolution strategies. Communicate effectively with teachers and staff regarding student progress and any concerns. Manage classroom behavior by employing effective behavior management techniques. Provide first aid assistance when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of all students. Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social and emotional development. Document incidents or behavioral issues as required, maintaining accurate records. Qualifications Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred. Background in special education or related fields is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students and staff. Ability to manage conflicts calmly and effectively while promoting a supportive environment. Knowledge of behavior management strategies to assist in maintaining classroom order. Certification in first aid or willingness to obtain certification is required. A genuine passion for working with children and helping them succeed academically and socially.
