Summer YCAP Assistant:

This summer/seasonal YCAP Assistant is responsible for tutoring and mentoring at-risk youth. This role is part of the YMCA’s Youth Community Action Project (Y-CAP), which provides services and a structured program for children between the ages of 10-14, who have been referred through the juvenile court system or the school system. Each child and their family have a personalized treatment plan that addresses their spiritual, physical, mental, and social needs. As a YCAP Assistant, you will play a crucial role in positively impacting their lives. Summer 2025 shifts vary and fall between the hours of 7am-4pm on Monday-Thursday.

Essential Functions:

Be a positive role model Assist with schoolwork Provide behavioral guidance Implement daily lesson/activity plans within established guidelines Make ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child Maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents/guardians Maintain required program records, such as sign-in/sign-out rosters Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training Develop positive, authentic relationships with people from diverse backgrounds Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age or older High school degree or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
