Behavioral Health Technician/ Mental Health Technician- The Job Behavioral Health Technicians/Mental Health Technicians (BHT/MHT) are responsible for assisting the operations staff, nursing department and clinical team daily. Assist residents at Celadon Recovery with daily activities of daily living to ensure schedule compliance. Monitor residents’ behaviors and report progress areas of concern to the team for documentation in the daily shift notes. Communicate concerns to the medical and clinical teams when present. Interact with residents daily, offering redirection and behavior modifications. This position is for the overnight or weekend shifts and is a great opportunity for a technician looking to pick up extra hours while getting to know us, in an environment that offers the potential for rapid growth opportunities.

Behavioral Health Technician/ Mental Health Technician Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for making observations regarding residents’ physical condition, behavior, and responses to treatment, reporting any significant changes to appropriate shift lead/departments. Conduct and document 30-minute resident checks and/or special resident safety checks. Provide care to clients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment. Accurately follow standard operating procedures while attending to behavioral problems that may arise utilizing appropriate skills in crisis prevention and intervention. Positive role modeling and maintaining resident safety, knowing resident’s locations at all times. Apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations Work with other members of a multi-disciplinary team in leading activities. Attend and complete all requested meetings and trainings.

Behavioral Health Technician/ Mental Health Technician Qualifications:

1-year experience with mental health and substance use disorders preferred, including familiarity with the disease concept of addiction and subsequent behaviors exhibited by those afflicted, as well as individuals suffering from mental issues. CPR/First Aid certification Level II Clearinghouse background check. Celadon Recovery is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
