JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of an RN is responsible for patient safety, welfare, and the implementation of therapeutic milieu and treatment plans. Serve as a patient observer on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require any degree of observation in order to maximize patient safety. Perform general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficiency of the nursing unit.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provides direct clinical care to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse or other licensed clinical personnel. Serves as a Nurse Technician or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in behavioral health performing the duties expected of an incumbent. Observes and records patient behavior and activities. Reports any changes in physical, mental or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggests modifications to the treatment plan. Provides crisis intervention with incoming calls and on the unit to maintain safety. Maintains a clean, safe, and patient friendly work environment; ensure supplies are stocked and available.
