Our Mental Health Tech’s are responsible for the following duties: Provides support to mental healthcare professionals
Observe and report information about patient behavior to the medical staff, including mood swings and the wellbeing of their patients
Listen to patients’ concerns, observe their behavior, and record their condition. Lead patients in therapeutic and recreational activities
Under direct supervision, provides child, adolescent, or adult patient supervision
Assists in the maintenance of a safe, secure environment that enhances treatment and/or educational effectiveness
Assists patients with activities of daily living; attends to patient behavioral problems and aids in crisis intervention if needed
Charts patient observations, following prescribed procedures and standards
Participates in the development and implementation of patient treatment programs
Maintains confidentiality of patient records
Transport patients to and from appointments, clinics, laboratories, and/or treatments, as and when appropriate

Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Two (2) years of collegiate coursework to include general psychology, interpersonal communication, abnormal psychology, and/or human growth and development preferred
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred
Handle with Care Certification or CPI within 90 days of hire Minimum Work Experience One (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to work in a busy environment and take appropriate action when needed
