Job Summary:
Performs patient observation, documents patient care and response to care and communicates significant information to the registered nurse and other appropriate team members
Essential Functions:
Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment
Perform these duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse
Provide point of care for all patients, regardless of isolation status
Functions as a member of the Patient Care Team in conjunction with the Licensed Direct Care Giver
Monitoring patients within line of sight who are impulsive and at high risk for falls, pulling out medical or treatment devices, and elopement
Monitor patients as one to one observation who are at high risk for suicide
Providing patients with emotional support
Alerting nurses when patients need help or intervention
Detecting changes in the patient condition
Maintain patient confidentiality
Help set up meal trays, change bed linens, and remove trash from the room
Qualifications
Education:
High school graduate or GED
Licenses/Certification:
BLS certification required
De-escalation training required
