IMC is currently looking to hire Mental Health Technicians [MHT] for IMC Behavioral Health . While supporting the nursing staff in maintaining a therapeutic environment, the MHT provides direct care and support to individuals with mental health conditions.
The MHT may participate in:
patient transportation, multi-disciplinary team conferences, case management, discharge planning and placement, intake and referral, as well as other duties. The MHT will maintain a safe and professional standard of patient care in accordance w/ Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations, and IMC’s policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Graduate or equivalent with CNA certification or at least six months of prior bedside, direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting Mental Health Technician Certification preferred [
MHTC, CMHT, NCPT
]
PRINCIPAL TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicates and documents patient observation and date effectively in patient record Customizes patient care activities to the needs of the patient [age specific, disability, cultural sensitivity needs, etc…] Documents significant occurrences, observed behavior, vital signs, nutrition, and patient observation findings on assigned patients Inventory the patient’s belongings as well as assisting patients with laundry, meals, mobility needs, and bathroom functions Demonstrates the ability to employ de-escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed Assists the Nurse or Therapist with discharge planning and aftercare follow up as assigned Effective communication with nursing staff in a timely manner Complies with IMC’s precaution and infection control policies
