Behavioral Therapy Specialist (BTS)

Location:

Harold Jordan Center, 259 Stewarts Ferry Pike, Nashville, Tennessee 37214 Estimated duration: 06/01/2025 – 06/30/2026

Pay Rate :

$19/hr on 1099 The Harold Jordan Center, operated by the Department of Disability and Aging (DDA), provides 24-hour residential care to support individuals with intellectual disabilities. The center offers specialized forensic and behavioral stabilization services to ensure the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional well-being of its residents. Job Overview The Behavioral Therapy Specialist (BTS) performs vocational and habilitation training, therapy, and supervision for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Under immediate supervision, the BTS carries out therapeutic interventions, actively contributing to the health and well-being of residents. Essential Job Duties Implement individualized support plans to meet residents’ active treatment needs. Communicate with families, conservators, employers, and the public to share vital information. Analyze medical treatment and training data to identify changes in behavior and abilities. Ensure a safe and supportive environment by assessing environmental conditions. Promote teamwork and collaboration among staff members. Train colleagues on active treatment interventions aligned with individual support plans. Work Schedule Three (3) 12.5-hour shifts per week. Rotating schedule includes weekends, nights, and holidays. Overtime may be required.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma (or equivalent). Minimum of one year of full-time work experience in teaching, business sales, marketing, or services for disabled persons.

Substitutions:

Additional college or technical coursework (minimum 9 quarter hours) in education, social or behavioral sciences, industrial arts, nursing, or mental health/human services from an accredited institution may substitute for experience.

Necessary Special Qualifications:

Valid vehicle operator’s license required. Training & Compliance Requirements On-site training provided. Pre-employment drug testing and criminal background check required.
