The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to expectant mothers throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period. This role requires a deep understanding of maternal health, the ability to perform various medical procedures, and a commitment to supporting families during this significant life event. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments to monitor the health of mothers and their babies throughout pregnancy. Provide pain management options during labor and delivery, ensuring comfort and safety for patients. Maintain accurate medical records and coding for all patient interactions and procedures. Perform sonography as needed to assess fetal development and maternal health. Assist with specimen collection processing for laboratory analysis. Suture minor lacerations resulting from childbirth as necessary. Develop discharge planning strategies to ensure a smooth transition for new mothers and their infants post-delivery. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care and support for patients. Experience Candidates should possess relevant experience in midwifery or a related field. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques, systems management, and effective communication skills are essential. A strong background in maternal-fetal medicine will be advantageous. The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development in midwifery practices.
