RequiredQualifications:

• One year’s experience as a Nuclear Medicine Tech
• Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist/ Radiography license incompliance with state regulations
• Current BLS Certification(AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current ARRT or CertifiedNuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)
• Other certifications andlicenses may be required for this position

Summary:

The NuclearMedicine Technologist is a highly specialized health careprofessional responsible for preparing and administeringradiopharmaceuticals to diagnose and treat various medicalconditions. They operate advanced imaging equipment, monitorpatient safety, and ensure compliance with radiation safetystandards while collaborating with healthcare teams to deliveraccurate and effective diagnostic results.

Essential WorkFunctions:

• Educate patients about nuclear medicine procedures,and address questions if they arise
• Maintains and inspectsnuclear medicine equipment, for proper functioning, reporting anymalfunctions and ensuring compliance with radiation safetystandards
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and othermedications to patients according to established protocols andsafety standards
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions toradioactive drugs or other administered medications, intervening asnecessary to ensure their safety
• Operates medical imagingequipment to create images of organs or areas of the body accordingto physician orders
• Document procedure details in patient recordsto ensure continuity of care and compliance with regulations
• Follows hospital safety rules and policies and radiation safetyprocedures to minimize exposure to radioactive materials
• Performsother duties as assigned within the scope of Nuclear MedicineTechnologist practice

Required Essential Skills:

• The ability to read, write, & communicate in the Englishlanguage is required
• Ability to read/comprehend writteninstructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PCskills

• Remain in a stationary position, moveabout, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending
• Interpersonal Skills
• To work effectively with a variety ofpersonnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positiveattitude and professionalism
• Technical/Motor Skills
• Ability tograsp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move aboutwhen assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
• Mental Requirements
• Must be able to cope with frequent contactwith the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines underpressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionallyas well as working without assistance from other personnel.
