Overview:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist I assists physiciansin the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures bypreparing the patient and operating the nuclear medicine equipmentin order to obtain diagnostic scans. Qualifications:
Education:
2Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved orNMTCB-recognized Nuclear Medicine Program, required.
Experience:
Minimum of one year of experience in nuclear medicine, preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Certified and registered in NuclearMedicine by ARRT or
NMTCB – RT
(N) or CNMT, required. IVCredentialed, required. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy

for life support training requirement, required.
Applicable state license, required. Additional Skills (required):
Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specificskills validation and competency testing; good communicationskills; capable of functioning alone in diagnostic rooms; workingknowledge of various types of nuclear medicine equipment, able toadapt to new and various situations and procedures according to ageof patient served; has ability to interpret information to identifyeach patient’s requirements for care relative to his / herage-specific needs.
