- Registered in Nuclear Medicineby the ARRT or equivalent body as recognized by the ACR orCertification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology CertificationBoard Current license in the state of practice Basic Life Support(BLS) certification from the American Heart Association KnowledgeSkills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Must have computer skills anddexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the abilityto present information clearly and professionally.
- Must beproficient with Windows-style applications, various softwarepackages specific to role and keyboard.
- Strong interpersonalskills.
- Ability to work on-call rotation schedule. Job Duties
- Verifies physician order and procedure to assure accuracy.
- Utilizes radiology information systems to facilitate care.
- Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
- Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedureaccording to protocol (including placement of IV and administrationof radiopharmaceuticals).
- Reviews patient images prior totransmission to ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards.
- Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance withregulatory standards and performing notification/remediation aswarranted.
- Leads departmental programs, protocol development,system standardization, competency validation, safety programs,accreditation, and quality/efficiency initiatives.
- Assists in theorientation and training of junior staff; provides feedback toannual staff evaluations.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including butnot limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to thepatient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to beperformed, requesting permissions and communication style.

Must be able tostoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity.
Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Must beable to travel throughout and between facilities. Must be able towork a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on callavailability). Duties performed routinely require exposure toblood, body fluid and tissue. The incumbent works in a patient carearea; works in an area where patients enter; works directly withpatients; and/or works with specimens that could contain diseases.
There may be an occupational risk for exposure to all communicablediseases. Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting,there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardousmedications or hazardous waste within the environment throughreceipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing,administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
