This job hascertification in Radiography and is responsible for assessingpatients and safely performing routine radiographic procedures inaccordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols. Inaddition, the technologist has been trained successfully andregistered in the additional modality.   • Completion of a RadiologicTechnology program in an AMA approved school and/or completion of aCAHEA approved formal training program in Diagnostic MedicalSonography Work Experience Required
  • 2 years’ experience inRadiologic Technology Certifications Required
  • Registered by theAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/orAmerican Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and/orcertification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology CertificationBoard (NMTCB) Current license in the state of practice Advancedlevel certification(s) in specific additional modalities Basic LifeSupport (BLS) from the American Heart Association Knowledge Skillsand Abilities (KSAs)•Must have computer skills and dexterityrequired for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Effectiveverbal and written communication skills and the ability to presentinformation clearly and professionally.
  • Must be proficient withWindows-style applications, various software packages specific torole and keyboard.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge ofprocedures and technical language
  • Ability to work with andmaintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to work efficiently andcalmly under pressure.
  • Ability to work self-directed and tofunction without direct supervision.
  • Ability and willingness tohave and maintain flexibility in work duties and hours (may requireflexible schedule such as nights, evenings, weekends, holidays,extended shifts, etc.).
  • General knowledge of anatomy as requiredfor specific radiology modalities.
  • Skills to preliminarilyidentify abnormal findings as required for specific radiologymodalities. Job Duties
  • Verifies physician order and procedure toassure accuracy.
  • Utilizes radiology information systems tofacilitate care.
  • Explains procedure to patient to ensureunderstanding.
  • Independently operates equipment to completeimaging procedure according to protocol (including placement ofIV).
  • Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensureimages meet diagnostic quality standards.
  • Completes timelyquality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standardsand performing notification/remediation as warranted.
  • Assists inthe facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staffschedules, equipment maintenance, etc.).
  • Adapts behavior to thespecific patient population, including but not limited to: respectfor privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adaptingexplanation of services or procedures to be performed, requestingpermissions and communication style.
  • Performs other relatedduties as assigned.
