Summary:
This Position performs and teaches diagnosticprocedures in the field of Nuclear Medicine. Specifically, thisposition administers radiopharmaceuticals, operates highlytechnical instruments, and analyzes the acquired data. The NuclearMedicine Technologist works under the direct supervision of theNuclear Medicine Supervisor and takes direction as well from theNuclear Medicine physicians.•This position qualifies for a $15,000commitment incentive which will be paid over a three (3) year workcommitment.

Responsibilities:
1. Administration ℜcord of
Radiopharmaceutical:
Identifies each patient, confirmsdate of birth, hospital number and identification. Achieves venousaccess and administers radiopharmaceutical. Records route ofadministration, dose and technologist’s initials.2. Describes examto patient, obtains informed consent, completes necessary paperworkfor study input of patient information into radiology managementsystem for record keeping and charge generation.3. Evaluatesrequisition, chart, and lab results. Performs patient assessment.
Identifies patient. Confirms females of childbearing age are notpregnant. Arranges for pregnancy testing upon orders from theNuclear Medicine physician.4. May performs advanced duties such asfound in Positron Emission Technology (PET) imaging and/or leadtechnologist role5. Radiopharmaceutical Handling ? receipt ofradiopharmaceuticals, proper documentation and proper disposal.
Follows guidelines set up by Radiation Safety Office and NRC6.Radiopharmaceutical selection, dosage and quality control review,assuring each dose to be administered is correct for the orderedprocedure, correct activity, acceptable quality control, andproperly recorded in the dose records7. Set up acquisition andperforms according to protocol, maintains patient comfort, care,and safety. Analyzes images and evaluates for correctness.
Processes films and submits to physician for approval.8. Uses RIS,CIS, SMS and PACS to generate proper documentation.. Completes allRIS orders with the appropriate and accurate charges added. Usestransport tracking system to arrange transportation of inpatientsto and from NM department.

Education Requirements:
• Graduation from an accreditedNuclear Medicine Technology program.
Licensure/CertificationRequirements:
• Registered as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist by theAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the NuclearMedicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registryeligible and become registered within one (1) year from date ofhire. Must maintain registry status and continuing educationrequirements annually.• Basic Life Support (BLS) for HealthcareProvider certification
