Job Summary:

Performstherapeutic and diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures providingquality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESMaintains and operates cameras that detect and map radioactivedrugs in a patient’s body to create diagnostic images. Positionspatients and selects anatomic and technical factors accurately.

Orders, prepares, administers, and disposes of radiopharmaceuticalsaccording to established protocols. Follows radiation safetyprocedures and guidelines. Ensures prompt submission ofhigh-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (imagequality, correct lead markers and patient data/history). Ensuresequipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems orequipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag outequipment if appropriate. Assists in maintaining a clean, andorderly department. Works in a constant state of alertness and safemanner. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Associate’sdegree or completion of a Nuclear Medicine certification program

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Constantstanding and walking. Frequent use of vision and depth perceptionfor distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information throughoral communication. Frequent use of hearing to distinguish bodysounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. Frequentlifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

Frequent lifting/moving of patients. Frequent reaching, grippingand keyboard use/data entry. Occasional lifting/carrying andpushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. Occasional use ofvision to identify and distinguish colors. Occasional bending,stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/armmovements. Rare kneeling and sitting.
