Job Description
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible, under the direction of a physician licensed to utilize radioactive materials, for performing or assisting in the performance of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures using radionuclides or brachytherapy sources. These responsibilities include but are not limited to radiopharmacy, radiation safety, in vivo and in vitro studies, equipment and inventory maintenance. The Staff Nuclear Imaging Technologist exercises professional judgment while performing services in a demeanor complimentary to customer service, age specific criteria, safety and medical ethics.
Education:
Graduate of an AMA approved program of Nuclear Medicine. Must be certified by either the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as RT(N) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board as a CNMT and have an Associates Degree in Nuclear Imaging or Business. Bachelors Degree preferred. If do not have current registry, must complete certification registry within 1 year of hire date.
Experience:
Will posses the education and skills to perform all job responsibilities of a staff nuclear medicine technologist, which include direct/indirect care of patients.
