Durham, NC Full TimePermanent Position Summary:

Performs the primary functions of acertified registered nurse anesthetist and administers anestheticsto surgical, obstetrical, dental, and emergency patients. Observesthe patient’s condition and monitors the patient who areanesthetized with continued reassessments. Takes necessary measuresto counteract unfavorable conditions. Keeps accurate records notingpre-operative. intra-operative, and post-operative anesthesiacondition. Must be proficient in IV sedation, Regional Blocks, ei.

SAB, Epidurals, and General Anesthesia. Assists in theadministration of the anesthesia department inventory control, andthe general running of the department. Promotes team work withinthe Operating Room and Hospital, with the medical staff, nursingpersonnel and other departments.

Qualifications:

Graduate from anaccredited school of nursing. Licensed by the North Carolina StateBoard of Nursing. Graduate from an accredited school of anesthesia.

Pursues programs of continuing education consistent withrequirements of Medical Center. Participates in educationalconferences and updates, maintains licensure as a registered nurseand a certified nurse anesthetist. Maintains professional knowledgeand skills to all areas of responsibilities.
