Seeking a CRNA who practices both autonomously and incollaboration with a variety of healthcare providers to deliverhigh-quality, holistic, evidence-based anesthesia and pain careservices. The CRNA cares for patients at all acuity levels acrossthe lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures including, butnot limited to, surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic andpain management.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Performs and documents the preanesthesia assessment andevaluation of the patient.
- Obtains informed consent for anesthesia and relatedservices.
- Reviews, requests, and orders laboratory/diagnosticstudies.
- Selects, obtains, orders, and administers preanestheticmediation or treatment.
- Develops and implements an anesthesia care plan. Providespostanesthesia follow-up and care.
- Selects, obtains, prepares, and uses equipment, invasive andnon-invasive monitors, supplies, and medications for theadministration of sedation, anesthesia, and pain managementservices; perform safety checks as needed.
- Selects, orders, obtains, and administers analgesic andanesthetic agents, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, fluids, orblood products necessary to provide anesthesia services.
- Performs all aspects of airway management, including fiberopticintubation.
- Initiates and administers post-anesthesia pharmacological orfluid support of the cardiovascular system. Initiates andadministers respiratory support to ensure adequate ventilation andoxygenation in the postoperative period.
- Evaluates the patient’s response to anesthesia and surgery;take appropriate corrective action during the postanesthesiaperiod.
- Discharges the patient from the postanesthesia care unit.
- Implements acute and chronic pain management modalities.
- Places and manages regional anesthetic techniques, asdelineated by clinical privileges.
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accreditedby the AANA Council
- Certification by the National Board of Certification andRecertification of Nurse Anesthetists
- Licensed as Registered Nurse to practice professional nursingin the state of employment
- Licensed as APN with the Tennessee Board of Nursing
- Current certifications in BLS,ACLS and
PALS PREFERRED
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to perform clinically as a nurse anesthetist in thefacility setting on a regular basis.
- Ability to operate, use, and interpret data from a wide varietyof equipment to perform anesthesia care as well as necessaryperioperative or operating room care to support the safety andwell-being of the patient while they are under the direct care ofthe CRNA.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide careappropriate to the patient population served.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth anddevelopment over the life span and ability to assess datareflective of the patient’s requirements relative to thepopulation-specific and age specific needs.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control techniques.
- Ability to maintain confidential records.
- Ability to implement and adhere to facility policies andprocedures.
Compensation:
