Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner specializing in Occupational Medicine for a 16-day locum tenens assignment in Alabama. Starting 06/09/2025, this role requires coverage on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8am to 12pm. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing DOT and regular exams, return-to-work evaluations, workers’ compensation cases, and handling various workplace injuries. Responsibilities include conducting physicals, administering antibiotics when necessary, reviewing health histories, performing urine tests, and identifying pre-existing medical conditions that might impair work performance. This opportunity offers the potential for extension beyond the initial assignment period.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Perform DOT and regular examinations
  • Conduct return-to-work evaluations and handle workers’ compensation cases
  • Assess and treat workplace injuries, including slips, trips, falls, cuts, scrapes, and burns
  • Review patient health histories
  • Administer urine tests
  • Identify pre-existing medical conditions that may impact work performance
  • Administer antibiotics for cuts when necessary
  • Possess own collaborative agreement
Additional Information:
  • Must be licensed in Alabama
  • Comfortable with occupational medicine procedures and protocols
