ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

The nurse is required to perform the following tasks: The NP will work onsite at the Maxwell Airforce Base, Montgomery, Alabama to provide direct patient care services to personnel listed above Perform patient triage, medical screenings, and vaccinations/immunizations Performs standard diagnostic procedures accurately, efficiently, and with the highest quality including but not limited to: 12-lead electrocardiograms, pulmonary function test (PFTs), arterial flow Doppler studies, and other clinical diagnostic studies assigned to meet the needs of the examinee Work independently as needed to achieve day-to-day objectives Coordinate with other medical staff as needed and communicate with internal and customer team members Maintain patient records through electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Use medical guidelines and medical knowledge to determine actions Contact patients to discuss medical concerns, followed by treatments Receive requested medical information from patient’s medical provider, reviewing information followed by taking actions Document process in medical records system Provide customer services within the guidelines Make recommendations for improving processes Nurse Practitioners may, as needed, conduct records-based fitness for duty evaluations (FFD) and FMLA reviews Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

A valid current, unencumbered Nurse Practitioners license for Alabama and RN license (Alabama or compact eNLC) Master of Science in Nursing (certified in Must be a US Citizen Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner with the last 36 months in the following outpatient clinic settings: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Urgent Care Emergency medicine Must not have been convicted of, pled guilty to, pled nolo contender to, or received probation before judgement for any crime other than a minor traffic violation, the record of which has not been expunged. Must not have had any professional licensure or certification withheld, suspended, revoked, or denied, and the candidate must not have surrendered or allowed a professional license or certification to have expired or lapsed because of an investigation or disciplinary action Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations Proficiency in electronic medical records software Required health requirement guidelines i.e., immunizations, vaccinations, medical testing and physical examinations Excellent communication and counseling skills Must be able to obtain a minimum Tier 1 National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) with Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint check § Able to favorably pass a preliminary background check § Able to gain required access to facilities, information systems, and/or information subject to the security procedures set forth § Pass a three-phase fitness determination: 1. Consumer credit report Criminal history records Security form submissions Verification of citizenship 2. KNOWLDEGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

Work independently with minimal supervision Excellent verbal and written communication skills Mastery level application of direct care health principles Proficient in patient examinations, assessments, and management coordination, with a primary focus on utilizing medical knowledge and organizational protocols in assessment and treatment Experience following protocols in the collection and organization of patient medical and related documentation; answering medical and review process questions posed by internal and external stakeholders Demonstrates aptitude for understanding medical guidelines, and experience associating the characteristics of medical conditions and treatments to ensure an appropriate recommendation Experience in maintaining sensitive personal identification information (SPII) standards and confidentiality in handling protected health information Exactness in maintaining records using Microsoft Office software i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, while documenting all direct patient care, contacts and outcomes related to patient activity in system. Work independently operating EHR, i.e.,MHS Genesis, ASIMS within 3 months of training DUTIES May be required to work in other duty sections Participate in a continual process of self-evaluation/peer reviews and strive for excellence in the clinic Complete all administrative tasks associated with the clinical position in an accurate and timely manner Provides trainee health support Develops policies and procedures and prepares directives governing communicable disease, illness and injuries, preventive medicine, and occupational medicine Follow Military Treatment Facility (MTF) training guidelines and standards, maintaining TJC and competency Determines recommendations on waivers of medical standards Develops programs for medical support of contingency operations Advises medical staff. Provides medical advice and guidance to bioenvironmental engineering, military public health, physiological training, and others

Physical Demands:

Position requires frequent standing or walking. Ability to access files, supplies and equipment. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.

Work Environment:

Work environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, chemicals etc. Subject to frequent interruptions.
