JOB DESCRIPTION

The University of Florida College of Nursing’s nurse led primary care practice, Archer Family Health Care (AFHC) is seeking an Advanced Registered Nursing Practitioner (ARNP) to provide mental health services in a rural primary health care clinic. The incumbent will participate in an integrated model of care and provide expertise in the evaluation and treatment of patients of all ages with complex psychiatric conditions. Primary responsibilities include providing mental health care, cognitive behavioral therapy, and medication management to patients of all ages. The ARNP will collaborate with a team to deliver quality care, contribute to developing individualized patient care plans, and facilitate their implementation. Additionally, the incumbent will precept graduate-level students and participate in quality improvement projects.

Responsibilities:

Taking patient histories, conducting examinations, and recording data in patient records.
Writing progress notes and documenting treatment plans.
Ordering diagnostic tests, interpreting results, presenting results to patients, and developing treatment plans for acute and chronic behavioral health problems based on patient history and diagnostic testing results.
Providing education and clinical expertise to graduate students.
Participating in monthly team meetings, provider meetings, and quality improvement initiatives, including DNP projects.

EXPECTED SALARY

$115,000.00 Annually

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge:

Understanding of confidentiality and the behaviors necessary to handle confidential materials.
Knowledge of the EPIC electronic health record.

Skills:

Excellent communication skills to work on a team and collaborate with care delivery.
Excellent interaction skills.

Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers and staff.
Ability to work with the public in a courteous, friendly, and tactful manner.
Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.

Other Qualifications:

Current CPR certification.

PREFERRED
Education & Training:

Current license in the state of Florida.
Master’s degree in nursing and certification in Psychiatric Mental Health.
Preparation in Doctoral education preferred.

Experience:

One-year experience as a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner preferred
