Job Summary:

The Inpatient Nurse Practitioner will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive psychiatric care to adults, children and adolescents admitted to our inpatient unit. The NP will collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and treat various patients with psychiatric disorders. This position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive and team-oriented environment dedicated to patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

Monday to Friday (8:00 am

  • 4:00 pm or 9:00 am
  • 5:00 pm) with possible on-call duties Work in an inpatient setting, with patient volume varying based on census Utilize evidence-based approaches to treat conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and other psychiatric concerns in youth, and adults Participate in quality improvement initiatives and best practices within the organization Conduct psychiatric evaluations, mental health assessments, and physical examinations for adult, child and adolescent patients Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, ensuring appropriate monitoring and adjustments as needed Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services in an inpatient setting.

Collaborate with families, caregivers, and community resources to support patient recovery and discharge planning Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards in the EMR system (Credible) Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and staff development activities Stay updated with current psychiatric best practices, research, and continuing education relevant to adult, child and adolescent mental health care.

Qualifications:
Education:

Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatry/Mental Health.

Licensure:

Active Nurse Practitioner license in Florida and board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP); DEA license preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in adult, child and adolescent psychiatric care (inpatient experience preferred).

Skills:
