Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our urgent care team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment, addressing a wide range of acute medical conditions. You will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver prompt and effective treatment to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment:
Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history-taking, physical examination, and diagnostic testing, to identify and treat a wide variety of urgent care conditions.
Diagnosis and Treatment:
Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and performing minor procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting, incision and drainage).
Patient Education:
Provide patients with information on their conditions, treatment options, and follow-up care. Offer guidance on preventive health practices.
Collaboration:
Work closely with supervising physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure coordinated, efficient, and high-quality care.
Documentation:
Accurately document patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Emergency Care:
Respond to medical emergencies within the urgent care setting, initiating appropriate interventions and coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
Infection Control:
Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure the urgent care environment remains clean, safe, and compliant with health regulations.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s degree in Nursing (for NP) or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
Licensure/Certification:
Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. National certification (e.g., AANP, ANCC, NCCPA) required.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or a related field is preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in clinical procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound care. Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Technical:
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and telemedicine platforms.
Certifications:
BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are required.
