Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hospital Internal Medicine team for a nightshift-only role. This position involves working from 7pm to 7am, providing care for Hospital Internal Medicine and Advanced Care at Home patients. Shifts will include weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain patient history and perform physical examinations. Order and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Formulate diagnostic impressions and develop treatment plans. Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions. Offer counseling and education to meet patient needs. Make appropriate referrals. Prescribe and dispense prescription medication in accordance with FL state laws and department policies. Perform minor procedures. Assess data reflective of patient’s status and interpret information relative to patient’s age-specific needs. Assist with ongoing departmental process improvement and policy development. Participate in other departmental or institutional committee assignments as needed. During the OnDemand interview, a question will appear on your screen, and you will have time to consider each question before responding. You will have the opportunity to re-record your answer to each question – Mayo Clinic will only see the final recording. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps. New Grads will not be considered at this time; 3+ years of NP/PA experience required
Nurse Practitioner:
Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP or ACNP.
Physician Assistant:
Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
Additional Qualifications:
Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required.
