Family Nurse Practitioner (Geriatric Specialist) Ocana Medical Center 6553 Gunn Highway, Tampa, FL 33625

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our primary care team. The FNP will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals and families across the lifespan, especially for geriatrics patients. Working in collaboration with physicians and other health professionals, the FNP will play a critical role in promoting wellness, preventing disease, and managing chronic and acute health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality primary care services, including routine check-ups, preventive screenings, and management of chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma Perform physical exams, obtain and document medical histories, and develop treatment plans Diagnose and treat common acute illnesses and injuries Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, imaging studies) Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions in accordance with state regulations Provide patient education on health maintenance, disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, and medication management Coordinate patient care with specialists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) Participate in clinic quality improvement initiatives and community health outreach

Qualifications:

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Florida National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC) DEA registration (or eligibility) to prescribe medications

BLS/ACLS

certification Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a primary care or family practice setting preferred (new grads welcome to apply)

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills Excellent communication and patient engagement abilities Proficient in using electronic health records ( eClinicalWorks) Bilingual skills (Spanish)
