The Heart Center at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital Offers a combination of compassionate care, advanced treatment options and specialty practice locations throughout Central Florida. The Heart Center is recognized as one of the top pediatric cardiology programs in the nation and named a Best Children s Hospital by U.S. News & World Report for more than 13 years. The Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program is just one of the many cardiac specialties offered by our Heart Center and we are in search of an Advanced Practice Provider to join the team built to treat congenital heart disease. The position is open to an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant with experience in adult cardiology, pediatric cardiology, or Adult Congenital Heart Disease. Common diagnoses included but not limited to:
Congenital coronary artery abnormalitiesCongenital aortic valve disease including atresia/stenosis/abnormality including bicuspid aortic valveCongenital aortic abnormalitiesAtrial septal defect, coarctation of aortaDouble outlet right ventricleEbstein anomalyEisenmenger syndromeHeterotaxy syndromesCongenital mitral valve disease including parachute and double orificePartial anomalous pulmonary venous return/ connection (PAPVR/C)Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA)Congenital pulmonary valve disease including stenosis and atresiaAll forms of single ventricle physiologyShone s ComplexSubaortic membrane/ ridgeTotal anomalous pulmonary venous return (TAPVR)Tetralogy of Fallot (ToF)Transposition of the Great ArteriesVentricular septal defect (VSD) ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions Outpatient clinic responsibilities include specialty clinics, satellite clinic opportunities, hospital follow-ups, and acute care visits. Ability to cover inpatient rounds and consults in collaboration with ACHD physician within the Critical Care/Cardiovascular intensive care unit, Step-Down unit, Acute Care unit, and medical floor unit. Participate in program development, community outreach, education.
Stays involved in ACHD community with participation in at least 2 of the following:
Education of professionals about the ACHD fieldPublication of scientific manuscripts on CHD topicsParticipation in CME related to ACHDTime spent in the service of CHD/ACHD organizationsEngages in the road to accreditation as an Adult Congenital Heart Association ACHD Program improving the quality of care for adults with congenital heart disease.
Involved in the transition of care program, aimed at adolescent patients with congenital heart diseaseCall Requirements (at minimum): 4 Weekdays per month: phone call only1 full weekend per monthFriday evening through Monday MorningIncludes phone call and weekend rounded/consults when neededExtra compensation provided for call coverage QualificationsEducation/Training Master s degree or Doctorate degree in Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant Studies.
Nurse practitioner must be certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP-BC), Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP-BC), or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Adult-Gerontology (ACNPC-AG) to treat patients 18 years and olderExperiencePreferred minimum 2 years experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in Pediatrics preferably with cardiovascular experience. Previous experience within Adult Congenital Heart Disease is a plus.
Licensure/Certification Nurse practitioner must be certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP-BC), Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP-BC), Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Adult-Gerontology (ACNPC-AG) to treat patients 18 years and olderPhysician Assistant fellowship trained in cardiovascular medicine adult or pediatric preferred.
Current active certification and licensure in the State of Florida as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
Maintains current BLS and ACLS certification.
