Patient-Centered Nurse Practitioner Clearwater Free Clinic 1218 Court Street, Clearwater, FL 33756 About us The Staff APRN provides primary and episodic care to patients of the free medical clinic, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of specialty medical volunteers. This role supports the clinic’s mission to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and accessible care to underserved populations. Essential Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive and focused assessments of adult patients Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions. Order and interpret diagnostic tests and make appropriate referrals Collaborate with rotating specialty volunteer providers (e.g., cardiology, endocrinology, dermatology) to coordinate continuity of care Educate patients on disease prevention, health promotion, and medication management Document all patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR) Support and supervise nursing and medical assistant staff in clinical workflow Participate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance with clinic protocols Qualifications This position is for an experienced Nurse Practitioner Licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Florida. Autonomous License is required National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology NP Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or outpatient setting required Experience working with underserved, uninsured populations highly desirable Ability to work independently while collaborating with specialty providers Strong communication and organizational skills Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required Core Competencies Clinical decision-making and diagnostic accuracy Empathy, cultural competence, and patient-centered care Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary, collaborative care setting Commitment to equity, safety, and continuous learning
