As an Examiner, you will be conducting Compensation &Pension(C&P) Examinations for Veterans applying for disabilitycompensation from the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) inrelation to their in-service injury claims. The role involvesreviewing the claim, performing focused assessments of claimedinjuries, reviewing medical records, and potentially rendering amedical opinion based on the record review and completedCompensation & Pension (C&P) exam. Charting from home may berequired for this position. Each examiner plays a vital role in theoverall experience of the Veteran. By providing an exceptionalexperience during these examinations we aim to positively impacteach Veteran.

These Medical Disability Examinations are crucial inthe VA’s process for determining benefits Veterans can receive as aresult of service-connected health issues. Our valuable clinicalinsights will play a significant role in facilitating access totreatment subspecialists, when necessary, which can createexceptional continuity of care for those who need it themost.

Clinical Examiners will be guided through a web-basedexamination form in a proprietary online system, which will enableyou to capture patient information throughout the examinationprocess. Qualified candidates must hold an active license, possessthe ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstratestrong interpersonal skills, and be adaptable to changingsituations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Conduct Comprehensive Medical Disability Examinations:

Performthorough and focused medical evaluations of Veterans, includingreviewing their medical history, conducting physical examinations,and assessing the impact of disabilities on their daily life andfunctional abilities. 10% travel is required to include other LSGSClinics.

Review and Analyze Medical Records:

Assess medical records,diagnostic test results, and other pertinent documentation to gaina comprehensive understanding of the Veteran’s medical history and health condition.

Render Objective Medical Opinions:

Based on the medicalexamination findings, diagnostic results, and medical recordreview, provide unbiased and evidence-based medical opinionsregarding the extent of the veteran’s health issues and theirimpact on their ability to work and carry out dailyactivities. Responsibility to understand and work in case managementsystem, including organizing workload, submitting examinationfindings, and corresponding with the Quality Assurance Team. Collaborate with

Healthcare Professionals:

Coordinate andcollaborate with other healthcare professionals, specialists, andexperts as needed to obtain additional medical information andinsights for a thorough evaluation.

Document Examination Findings:

Accurately record examinationfindings in medical opinions, and any relevant recommendations inclear and concise reports following established VA guidelines andformats that adhere to the contractual obligations in accordancewith the VA’s requirements. Partnering with all Loyal Source departments to gain supportand use resources that can help complete tasks and meet deadlinesfor optimal performance. Effective time management and appropriate submission andconfirmation of availability and scheduling for all Compensationand Pension (C&P) exams. This responsibility is vital to theservices we are providing to each Veteran.

Ensure Compliance and Quality:

Adhere to all relevant laws,regulations, and standards related to disability examinations,ensuring the highest level of accuracy, fairness, and quality inthe evaluation process. Required to work collaboratively with the QA team to submitthorough and accurate examination findings. Required to comply with and maintain compliance with all VAtraining requirements. Review and remain updated on all VA MDE programrequirements.

Maintain Confidentiality:

Safeguard the confidentiality of allpatient information and examination results in accordance withapplicable privacy and security protocols. All employees with access to patient data are expected to havea thorough understanding of HIPAA compliance. HIPAA complianceensures covered entities understand and take steps to prevent therisks that could compromise patient data. It establishes keysafeguards for keeping sensitive data safe. Employees with accessto patient data are required to pass an annual assessment thattests HIPAA compliance basic knowledge. Failure to complete theassessment with a minimal passing score could result in additionaltraining with re-testing, reassignment, orseparation.

Qualifications Education and Licensing:

Graduate of a school of professionalnursing accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by theU.S. Department of Education. A valid and unrestricted NursePractitioner license and is not barred from practicing in any ofthe 50 States, the District of Columbia, or a Commonwealth,territory, or possession of the United States. Required at least 1 year of experience working as a NursePractitioner.

Experience:

Previous experience in conducting medicaldisability examinations or a related field is preferred Basic Life Support certification required, includingrenewals.). Previous military experience or familiarity with the militaryor veteran communities preferred.

Specialized Training:

Completion of specialized training orcontinuing education in Medical Disability Evaluations,occupational health, or related areas is advantageous.

Clinical Skills:

Demonstrated proficiency in conductingcomprehensive medical assessments, interpreting diagnostic tests,and formulating evidence-based medical opinions.

Empathy and Compassion:

Possess a compassionate and empatheticapproach towards patients, ensuring a respectful andpatient-centered evaluation process.

Analytical Abilities:

Strong analytical and critical thinkingskills to interpret complex medical information and reach objectiveconclusions.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills, with the ability to convey complex medicalconcepts in clear and understandable terms with the ability toeffectively present findings to diverse audiences.

Ethics and Integrity:

Unwavering commitment to upholdingethical standards, maintaining objectivity, and ensuring fairnessin disability evaluations. Detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on accuracy, dataquality, and alignment with LS and VA standards. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in ateam-oriented environment. Excellent organizational and time management skills with theability to manage multiple initiatives and change focus quickly tomeet business needs within a fast-paced environment. Strong customer focus and consistently performs with a sense ofurgency. Authorized to work in the United States including andmaintaining any guidelines or requirements specific for federalcontractors.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common senseunderstanding, to carry out detailed instructions and to deal withproblems involving a few variables.

Technological AbilityCompetentin the use of MS Word, MS Outlook, Adobe pdf, web-based platformsand electronic medical records systems. Familiarity with Teams andweb-based instructional/learning management systemspreferred.

Physical RequirementsProlonged periods standing andsitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift upto 15 pounds at times. Must be able to see, hear, smell, bend,stretch, and engage in full range of motion in order to safelyconduct comprehensive physical examinations.

Travel Requirements:

10%Travel required supporting other clinics. Additional travel forrequired training or company events.
