Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA) 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars Shreveport, LA We are seeing an NP or PA to join our team in Shreveport, LA! Assignment Details This position will review pertinent medical history documentation and provide one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension exams for Veterans. The Practitioner will capture responses during the exam through a web-based examination form; all documentation will be completed electronically. Completed exams are sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations. You will electronically document the exam findings required by the VA through the web portal based on questions presented in the disability benefits questionnaires and medical opinions requested by the Veterans Affairs Regional Office. The examiner does not make disability determinations. The United States Veterans Administration makes all disability determinations. This role performs Disability Assessments on Veterans. You will not treat, and you will not prescribe medication in this position. This is an in-person position.

Duration:
1 year (Government Contract) NP/PA Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans. Provide emergency medicine services, including triage and stabilization of patients. Administer psychopharmacology treatments as needed, ensuring safe and effective medication management. Offer occupational health services, focusing on workplace-related injuries and preventive care. Utilize telehealth technology to conduct virtual consultations and follow-ups with patients. Perform esthetic laser treatments while adhering to safety protocols and best practices. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care. Maintain accurate patient records using Athenahealth or similar electronic health record systems. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, ensuring dignity and respect in all interactions. NP/PA Qualifications Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited institution. Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice. Proven experience in emergency medicine, psychopharmacology, or related fields is preferred. Strong knowledge of occupational health practices and regulations. Proficiency in telehealth platforms and technologies. Excellent triage skills with the ability to make quick clinical decisions under pressure. Experience in esthetic laser treatment is a plus but not required. Exceptional patient care skills with a focus on empathy and communication.
