Responsibilities Perform comprehensive wound assessments, including documentation of wound size, depth, exudate, odor, periwound condition, and signs of infection Develop and implement evidence-based wound care treatment plans Debride wounds as necessary (sharp, enzymatic, or autolytic depending on scope and training) Apply advanced wound care dressings and negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists (e.g., vascular, podiatry), and facility nursing teams Educate patients and caregivers on wound prevention and management Monitor wound progress and revise care plans accordingly Utilize EMR systems to document visits, plans, and outcomes accurately Participate in wound care rounds, team meetings, and quality assurance programs Skills Board certification as an Adult, Family, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Minimum of 1 year experience in wound care, dermatology, or a related specialty Certification in Wound Care (WOCN, WCC, CWCN, or similar) preferred DEA license and prescriptive authority Familiarity with wound care products, dressings, and treatment protocols
