The Douglas Fournet VA Clinic, aligned with the Alexandria VA Medical Center is seeking two full-time, BC/BE, Internal Medicine Physicians to serve as members of its Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) Team in Lake Charles, LA. The City of Lake Charles is conveniently located off Interstate-10 between Houston, TX and New Orleans, LA. Our sandy beaches make up the shores of the Calcasieu River just 30 miles upstream from the Gulf of Mexico. Lake Charles is connected to the Gulf by means of a deep-water ship channel and is the seat and port of entry of Calcasieu Parish. Candidates must be highly motivated, team- oriented, and committed to the care and exceptional health of our veterans. Highlights of this position include:
Competitive Starting Salary $240,000-$250,000
Work Schedule:
Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm
This position is telehealth eligible (virtual visits- video, remote care by telephone)
Provides care to approximately 12-20 outpatients daily in an outpatient setting
Responsible for all facets of acute patient care Will assist in completing quality management reviews.
Responsible for the successful achievement of applicable Performance Measure and Monitors their areas of responsibility.
Incumbent will take an active part in the peer review process and complete Physician’s reviews on time
Additional Requirements:
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
Experience in Primary Care
Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-Citizen candidates will be considered if a U.S. Citizen is not found
Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State
