In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients across various settings, including hospitals, urgent care facilities, and medical offices. Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders, conducting physical examinations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs. Provide medication management and monitor patient responses to treatment. Perform physical examinations as part of the overall assessment process. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in a teaching hospital environment to enhance patient care. Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options. Participate in emergency medicine situations as needed, ensuring patient safety and effective intervention. Stay informed about workers’ compensation law as it pertains to mental health services. Engage in hospice palliative medicine practices when applicable, providing compassionate end-of-life care. Experience A valid Nurse Practitioner license with a specialization in psychiatric-mental health nursing is required. Experience working in urgent care or medical office settings is preferred. Familiarity with hospital protocols and procedures related to mental health care is advantageous. Previous experience in conducting physical examinations and emergency medicine is beneficial. Strong communication skills for effective teaching and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. Ability to lift patients as necessary while ensuring their comfort and safety during assessments or treatments.
