Job:
This individual is employed by St Tammany Health Systems (STHS) for the purpose to provide nursing care and medical support under the supervision of a provider in a professional, caring, efficient and compassionate manner in the STPN Hand Clinic.
Responsibilities to include:
Clinic medical management of adolescents thru geriatric patients both face to face and via Video visits Care planning, follow-up visits, updating treatment plan including medication, ordering and interpreting lab, x-rays, and diagnostic testing in the medical record as appropriate and within scope of care. Assist with and perform joint injections, casting, splinting and removal of casts. Develop a plan of care for each patient, including complete medical history, provider examination, diagnosis, patient education, appropriate treatment and/or referral. Confer with consulting providers, nurses, patients, and patients’ family concerning treatment and care of patients. Refer those cases that require specialist services but maintain responsibility, assuring that continuity of care is provided. Communication with patients, families, staff, and providers via phone, in person or electronic communications. Demonstrate professional responsibilities dedicated to providing safe and high-quality patient care.
EDUCATION, LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current Louisiana State APRN Licensure Current BLS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off. Strong computer skills 3-5 years of related experience preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS
Physician or outpatient office experience preferred. Must be able to maintain composure under difficult and stressful conditions. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and be able to work independently with little supervision. Displays tact and diplomacy in inter-personal skills. License must be maintained annually, and continuing education credits completed to adhere to licensing requirements.
