Job purpose Participate as a memberof the medical service delivery team in the health management andtreatment of individuals seeking medical services with Tapestry. Provideconfidential, non-judgmental medical services, counseling, and educationto clients concerning reproductive health issues to enable them to makefully informed decisions and access the full range of medical servicesneeded. Duties and responsibilities Perform routine initial/ annualcomprehensive exams and other reproductive health related exams to allclients. Provide for the assessment and management of sexuallytransmitted infections, vaginitis, urinary tract infections and otherreproductive health issues in accordance with Tapestry medical protocolsReview of client?s medical history and other medically relevantinformation. Order laboratory and diagnostic tests as described in theprotocol Perform lab tests and venipuncture as needed and within scopeof practice. Provide appropriate birth control methods and medication inaccordance with Tapestry medical protocols. Provide reproductive healthcounseling and distribute appropriate written information. Makeappropriate referrals to other health care providers for services beyondthe scope of Tapestry Document all information in electronic medicalrecord and on logs per protocol. Alert supervisor of need for DCFnotification of abuse of minor clients Assist in training andorientation of new staff, interns and/or volunteers. Other duties asassigned Qualifications Licensed to practice advance practice nursing asa Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Midwife or as a Physician?s Assistant bythe Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Board Certified byAmerican Nursing Association, or American College of Nurse Midwives, orAmerican Academy of Nurse Practitioners or National Commission onCertification of Physician?s Assistants One-year clinical experience inwomen?s health preferred. Strong interpersonal skills required. Abilityto work with a diverse clientele and staff, and to work as part of ateam. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual(Spanish/English) preferred. Computer skills, experience with an EMRpreferred Supports the mission and goals of the agency. Workingconditions Job requires some evening hours weekly. Occasionaloccurrences of dealing professionally with challenging clients isrequired Physical requirements Able to sit at a desk to use computer,general administrative duties and make phone calls for 4 plus hours perday. Able to stand for up to 4 plus hours/day, Able to sit for up to 4plus hours/day Able to walk to offices within the clinic site to deliverservices. Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
