Advanced Practitioner in theMedical Intensive Care Unit & S tepdown The Advanced Practitionerin t he Medical Intensive Care Unit & Step Down will join theDivision of Pulmonary in a team of established critical careadvanced practitioners . The advanced practitioner will alsoprovide as a consult service for stepdown and medical ICUadmissions in the emergency department . The Advanced Practitionersin this group use their extensive critical care knowledge toprovide direct care to complex critically ill patients requiringmultiple technologies and advanced life support. AdvancedPractitioners will practice in a collaborative environment with anintensivist, attending physicians, and other highly skilled membersof the healthcare team . Advanced practitioners are provided withongoing medical education, procedural training and opportunity forgrowth within the Department of Pulmonary . Cover MICU and SD for a24/ 7 APP run service Consult on patients in the emergencydepartment requiring admission to a medical critical care unitCollaborate with attending pulmonary critical care physicians ondaily rounds to formulate complex patient care plans Performbedside procedures including but not limited to: central lineplacement, arterial line placement, advanced ultrasonography

ACLS/BLS

certified Extensive new graduate onboarding including a4-6 month orientation with dedicated time for learning in HartfordHospital Center for

Education, Simulation and Innovation Shift:

Days with rotation to nights, weekends and holidays – 13 hourshifts, 3 Days a week. Full-Time (40hrs )

Qualifications AdvancedPractitioner Requirements:

Nurse Practitioners (APRN) positionsrequire National certification in Advanced Practice, MSN, andcurrent CT Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (APRN) certification.

Physician Assistants (PA) positions require current CT PhysicianAssistants (PA) License and Board certification or eligible. Alldisciplines require the demonstrated ability to positively interactwith medical and nursing staff. Critical Care experience preferredbut not required . We take great care of careers.
