Position Details:

Hartford Hospital is seeking aPhysician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join theirNeurocritical Care team! The Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) arepart of a multidisciplinary team that plans and delivers care forcritical neuroscience patients with a focus on those withneurological and neurosurgical diseases and related disorders. Ourcritical patient population includes complex strokes, skull basesurgery, status epilepticus, tumor resections, spinal cord injury,DBS, and other complex diseases. The APPs rotate in the stepdownunits.

Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistants Role Scope:

Underestablished guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision withthe practice physician(s), Advanced Practitioners perform routinephysical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, andpsychosocial plans to treat patients. In consultation with thephysician(s) and care team members, Advanced Practitioners developplans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral toother health team members or specialists. Advanced Practitionersprovide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of theprovider’s practice as designated by protocols and identifiesproblems outside of their scope of practice and refersappropriately to physician.

Unrestricted State of ConnecticutMedical License (or eligible)

Training :

Certified orboard-eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
