• $65.00 an hour / 50 hours month between the hours of 8am-5pm, Monday – Friday

• Position Description:

• The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP} would work incollaboration/consultation with a Physician currently holding an unrestricted license in Mississippi.

In accordance with their Board of Nursing approved protocol, the PMHNP mayassess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate responses to treatment for psychiatric illnesses. Theresponsibilities of the Contract PMHNP include, but are not limited to; obtain histories, formulates diagnosis and plan of treatment, orders and interprets diagnostic studies and lab work while assessing Persons’ current health care needs, prescribes psychotropic medications that are appropriate for diagnosis and plans within the allowed parameters ofapplicable regulations, engages in evaluation, differential diagnosis, treatment and/or referral when appropriate; will be required to respond to emergency calls and perform related or similar duties as required or assigned.

• EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Typically requires a Nurse Practitioner Degree in Family Psychiatric Mental Health or Adult Psychiatric Mental Health, licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and nationally board certified.

Employees of Ellisville State School cannot be considered for this position unless they resign from their current state service position.
