• Nurse Practitioner – Behavioral Health – PART TIME

• Part time nurse practitioner
• for their10 bed geriatric psych inpatient unit.

Under the general supervisionof the Medical Director, the

• Nurse Practitioner (NP)
• will provideclinical services to the behavioral health program and is primarilyresponsible for diagnosing and treating patients; and providingcontinuing education to patients and their families according toapproved protocols.

The NP will assess the patients by examiningmedical history, physical exams and behavioral health evaluations;and ordering or performing diagnostic tests, and within the boundsof scope of practice as delineated by both federal and stateregulations/guidelines.

• Responsibilities:

• Participate in inpatient admissions,transfers and discharges in accordance with establishedguidelines/standards
• Complete patient diagnoses, treatment,education and referrals in accordance with Hospital policies
• Perform treatment planning and intervention
• Conduct physical examsof the patient during admission and attend to basic medicalneeds/issues; work with hospital specialists to manage morecomplicated medical conditions
• Perform rounds and record patientprogress notes; compile detailed narrative and case summaries;complete forms pertinent to patients medical records

• On CallInformation:

• Inpatient Coverage:

• Providing on call coverageMonday-Friday 8a-5p
• Providing on call overage every other weekend(Friday 8a-Monday8a)

Rounding:

• Required every Monday, Tuesday,and every other Friday.
• If there is an admission during yourweekend coverage, you would need to come in to complete thepsychiatric evaluation on that patient.

Outpatient Coverage :

• Rounding on new admissions twice per week at most.

• Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing accredited through the commission onCollegiate Nursing
• NP license in Indiana
• Doctor of nursingpractice highly preferred
• Minimum 3 years of clinicalexperience
