Job Description

ARA Health Specialists, located in the mountains of western North Carolina, is seeking a certified physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join its existing APs. Responsibilities include performing fluoroscopy (including barium studies, myelograms, lumbar punctures, arthrograms, & placement of feeding tubes), CT/Ultrasound directed biopsies (including lung, liver, & thyroid), and other invasive procedures (drainages, chest tube placement). Clinic responsibilities, including pre-procedure and post-procedure assessments, are essential functions of this position. Surgical experience, strong clinical abilities, and effective communication skills are required. Previous radiology experience and NC licensure is preferred. On-the-job training for familiarization with specific procedures will be provided. ARA Health Specialists is one of North Carolina’s leading multi-specialty medical practices. BS degree with Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant certification and fully licensed by the State of North Carolina Current CPR Certification Excellent telephone and electronic medical record documentation skills Ability to demonstrate initiative, adaptability, dependability, and work independently with little supervision Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively perform job duties Strong interpersonal skills necessary to be an efficient, cooperative team member Must possess the ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

Previous experience (six months or more) as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a vascular surgery clinic/interventional radiology clinic and hospital setting

Up to 6 months of on-the-job training is potentially necessary to become proficient in most phases of this position.
