Position:

Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitionerwith Certification in a Primary Care discipline

Schedule:

One Dayper week; 8 Hours per day. (Regular day to be determined.)

Location:

Buncombe County Detention Center, Asheville, NC Pay Rate:

Starting at $64.00 per hour; rising commensurate with experience

Responsibilities:

Conduct History & Physicals (H&Ps) forassigned patients Assess and treat acute/chronic medical problemsand provide direct patient care in a correctional setting Writeappropriate orders, including controlled substances, as medicallyappropriate Perform emergency, lifesaving procedures duringemergent situations Notify supervising or collaborating Physicianof any unusual or unexpected events or problems requiring directPhysician consultation Practice safety, environmental, and/orinfection control methods Document promptly and properly Helpeducate patients about their condition (if any) and treatmentRespond to requests from security staff and MEDIKO staff; observerules and regulations, and chain of command at all times within thefacility Provide on-call services as assigned by the facilityand/or company needs Qualifications Active state license asPhysician Assistant or

APRN/ARNP
