Nurse Practitioner Encore Wire 2512 Penny Road, Claremont, NC 28610 OccuMed Onsite is seeking a compassionate and self-sufficient Nurse Practitioner (NP) to manage our onsite employee health clinic in Claremont, North Carolina. This is a solo provider position, ideal for a skilled NP who thrives in an autonomous environment and is comfortable performing both clinical and administrative duties without support from a medical assistant. Essential Job Functions Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to employees, including health assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. Evaluate, treat, and follow up on work-related injuries and illnesses. Conduct occupational surveillance exams (e.g., respirator clearance, hearing conservation, and DOT physicals if certified). Conduct physical exams, administer vaccines, perform point-of-care testing (e.g., blood glucose, rapid strep), and treat minor injuries and illnesses. Manage common chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and asthma. Document all patient encounters accurately in the electronic health record (EHR). Perform basic clinical support tasks such as: Taking and recording vital signs, Phlebotomy, Administering medications or injections, Stocking supplies and managing inventory Coordinate referrals and communicate with outside providers as needed. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. Support wellness initiatives and provide health education and counseling to employees. Collaborate on injury trend reporting, return-to-work planning, and safety investigations. Provide health education and support wellness campaigns in partnership with HR and EHS. Education and Experience Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in North Carolina National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) CPR/BLS certification required. Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as an NP, preferably in occupational health, urgent care, primary care, or similar setting. Comfortable working independently in a clinic setting without medical assistant support. Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred. Friday:
8:00AM to 5:00PM Work environment The clinic is situated within or near the production floor of the facility. The daily workload can vary widely — from quiet periods focused on administrative work and wellness planning, to busy stretches involving urgent injury care, health screenings, or multiple walk-in visits Travel requirements Travel to McKinney, Texas for working interview and onboarding process Special conditions or requirements May need to answer phone calls on weekends or after hours regarding work injuries. Working Interview Process As part of the final selection process, candidates may be asked to participate in a working interview at our onsite clinic. This allows both the candidate and our team to assess practical clinical skills, workflow management, and communication style in a real-world setting. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate: Basic occupational health evaluations (mock or observed) Solo clinic workflow, including vitals, documentation, and patient interaction Communication with EHS/HR team members Familiarity with workplace safety and first aid protocols This hands-on assessment helps ensure a strong mutual fit and supports a smooth transition into this independent role.
