Job Description

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) KbRani Jacksonville, NC 28546 The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) is a registered professional nurse with national certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and licensure as a Nurse Practitioner by the North Carolina Joint Board of Nursing and Medicare. The NNP collaborates with a Neonatologist to perform patient management activities for an assigned group of neonates within established protocols. Indirect patient care responsibilities include role modeling, clinical consultation, and education.

  • Education/Certification:
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and completion of an accredited certificate or Master’s of Science in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the ANCC or the AANP.
  • BLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS and PALS certification required within 6 months of employment.
  • Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience.
  • Schedule:
  • 24-hour in-house call, 8 shifts per month.
  • Daily patient census of 14.
  • Proficient in NRP.
  • Attendance at high-risk births, including emergency c-sections.
  • Response to neonatal rapid response team (RRT) and codes.
  • Procedures include medication administration, insertion of lines, and intubation assistance.
  • Board certification required.
  • Paid travel and lodging provided.
