Part-Time As part of Discover Health Group’s growing team, the company is looking for experienced and motivated individuals to become a valued member of this newly operating PHP and IOP, with anticipated expansion to our second facility. Job Summary We are seeking a dually licensed, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our Substance Use Disorder (SUD) outpatient treatment program. The ideal candidate will have active NP licensure in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire , with experience in dual diagnosis treatment and a passion for serving individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. This role includes psychiatric evaluations, medication management (including MAT), and interdisciplinary collaboration to provide integrated, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Services Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments. Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and clinical teams. Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, including MAT (e.g., Suboxone, Vivitrol). Monitor treatment efficacy, side effects, and safety of pharmacological interventions. Address co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions within a harm-reduction or abstinence-based framework. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). Collaboration & Communication Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings including therapists, case managers, RNs, and recovery coaches. Coordinate with primary care, emergency services, and inpatient providers for continuity of care. Provide psychiatric consultation to clinical staff regarding client care plans. Compliance & Quality Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, DEA, and state SUD treatment guidelines. Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, and continuing education to maintain high standards of care. Supervise or collaborate with RNs and LPNs as needed.
Qualifications:
Required Active and unrestricted PMHNP licensure in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire . Board Certification by ANCC as a
PMHNP-BC.
X-Waiver or ability to prescribe buprenorphine (DATA 2000 waiver or updated DEA registration). Minimum of 2 years’ experience treating individuals with SUD and co-occurring mental health disorders. Knowledge of trauma-informed care and integrated treatment models. Preferred Experience in community mental health or outpatient SUD settings. Familiarity with evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing). BLS/CPR Certification. Comfortable working with diverse populations including LGBTQ+, veterans, and justice-involved clients. Schedule & Compensation Flexible schedule Hybrid telehealth/in-person care available.
