Position Summary:

The Temporary Nurse Practitioner will cover clinic sessions at our sites located in Hoboken, Union City, and West New York. The expected end date would be the end of December 2025. Responsibilities and Duties Takes, records, reviews, interprets the medical and social history of the patients Performs appropriate medical screening procedures including but not limited to, breast and pelvic exams. The latter includes speculum examination, bimanual examination, obtaining materials for sexual transmitted infection investigation, cytological smears and other types of more specialized screening procedures as may be indicated by clinic medical protocol Interprets laboratory data and orders appropriate additional labs when indicated Evaluates clinic patients, based on the above, and suggests and implements treatment regimens (including contraceptive choice) for patients Provides counseling and advice on family planning methods and handles patients’ questions and problems relating to these methods. Refers patients with abnormal conditions or other medical problems to supervising physician as needed Makes and follows up other appropriate medical and social referrals as indicated and provides liaison with health and welfare agencies Participates as clinician in cancer screening programs Performs additional assignments and other duties delegated by the Executive Director Qualifications and Skills Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of New Jersey BLS certified Must be licensed in NJ and certified (NCC, ANCC, or AANP) Experience in performing Women’s Health procedures such as colposcopy and LARC insertion and removals a plus Ability to work independently Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills Travel to different clinic sites required Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
