Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health, substance use disorder, and co-occurring diagnoses. This role involves diagnosing patients, conducting comprehensive physical and mental health examinations, and prescribing medications to address various psychiatric and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments. Diagnose and develop treatment plans for patients with psychiatric and substance use disorders. Perform physical examinations as needed. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including MAT medications such as buprenorphine and naltrexone. Manage methadone dose adjustments and inductions. Oversee outpatient detoxification for opioid use disorder. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide holistic patient care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans. Stay current with best practices in mental health and substance use treatment.

Qualifications:

Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Valid and active license to practice in New York State. Experience in mental health, substance use disorder, and co-occurring diagnoses. Proficiency in managing medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
