Job Summary As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial part in our mission with your primary responsibilities being to provide optimal care to patients, handle patient appointments and perform routine examinations to ensure patient health. The Nurse Practitioner will work under the supervision of the Physician and consult with Physicians when necessary.
Responsibilities include not limited to:
Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients. Communicate with patients and ask about their health for diagnosis. Review and maintain patients’ medical histories and records, and record patients’ progress. Identify changes in the patient’s symptoms and intervene in emergency situations. Administer medications, draw blood, and give vaccinations following appropriate guidelines. Monitor temperature, pulse, breathing, and blood pressure and keep accurate records. Participate in other treatments for patients, including cleaning and badging wounds and splinting broken bones Monitor and provide routine checkups for patients. Work with other healthcare providers to establish treatment plans for children with chronic or acute conditions. Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to the patient’s age-specific needs. Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, and/or chronic illnesses Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care Research the latest treatments, innovations, advances, and trends in the medical industry. Educate and counsel patients and their families. Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities Assists with the provision of surgical care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations. Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between health care settings, e.g., admitting, transferring, and discharging patients. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals. Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools. Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
Experienced NPs for at least 3 years in Urgent Care, Emergency Room or Primary Care is preferred, but not a must Master’s degree in a
Nurse Practitioner Program:
Family American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Current New York State professional license DEA license required American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
BLS, ACLS, PALS
certification through American Heart Association required. New Grads are Encourage to apply
